We heard feedback from our customers about wanting a facial cleanser specifically for oily skin types, so we formulated the Sweet Orange Gel Cleanser, and launched it this past May.
The attributes to oily skin are excessive oil production, pores are large, prone to blemishes, and your skin can look sallow and thick.
Oily or lipidic skin needs a balanced regime of moisturizer and cleanser. Too much cleansing will strip the acid mantle that protects skin from environmental pollutants that lead to irritation, but too little will lead to breakouts and speed up the signs of aging.
Too little moisture will cause skin to continue to overproduce oil, while a thick moisturizer may not entirely absorb into your skin. Exfoliate regularly to remove acne-causing dead skin cells that can become trapped in the pores.
One of the ingredients in the Sweet Orange Gel Cleanser is aloe vera juice. The aloe vera plant, called 'plant of immortality' by the Egyptians, not only treats sunburns but it is also beneficial to acne by soothing the inflammation caused by blemishes and healing the skin quickly with minimal scarring.
Witch hazel is also used in our cleanser because as a natural astringent, it lessens bacteria growth on the skin and helps to balance the skin’s pH level and moisturize without leaving your skin feeling greasy, which is a big plus for helping oily skin feel clean without stripping it of moisture.
But the ingredient that makes this cleanser an amazing product is the orange peel oil (aurantium dulcis). Not only is this essential oil have antiseptic benefits to treat acne, its fresh scent is energizing and it's antidepressant attributes as an aroma will bring happy thoughts to your daily skin care routine.
